Staff
of FIRE
Ana Ugalde
Bamboa, originally from Guanecaste, Costa Rica, joined the FIRE staff in
October, 1999 as Executive Coordinator of the Office. Before coming
to FIRE, Ana worked with the Embassy of Denmark as an administrative assistant
with their programs on human rights and democracy throughout Central America.
Prior to that job, Ana worked with the United Nations High Commission for
Refugees in Central America.
In talking
about what working at FIRE means to her, Ana says, "I feel that the Associacion
de Comunicaciones – Feminist Interactive Radio Endeavour gives me the opportunity
to put into creative practice my skills in administrative support in an
historic moment in which I know that women can act as as spiders, to take
out from their insides the thread to weave new universes... especially
now that we have the Web..."
